Theraflu products contain a number of medications for symptoms associated with colds and flu including:

Acetaminophen: used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever.
Chlorpheniramine: an antihistamine. It helps relieve itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by allergies, hay fever, and the common cold.
Dextromethorphan: used to help relieve coughs due to colds.
Phenylephrine: used for the temporary relief of congestion or stuffiness in the nose caused by hay fever or other allergies, colds, or sinus congestion.
Diphenhydramine: an antihistamine. Helps relieve itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, and the common cold. It is also used to help relieve coughing caused by minor throat or airway irritation.
Pheniramine: an antihistamine which helps relieve some symptoms of the common cold, such as sneezing and runny nose.
Guaifenesin: thins the mucus in the air passages and makes it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways.
